Some roasters are good. Some are world class. Manhattan Coffee Roasters is the latter.
Based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Manhattan Coffee Roasters has built one of the most respected names in the European specialty coffee scene since launching in 2017. The city itself says something about their ambition. Rotterdam sits on the river Maas and has long been nicknamed "Manhattan aan de Maas" by its locals, a modern skyline in a country full of history. A city with that kind of character deserves a roastery to match.
Manhattan sources everything from carefully selected specialty lots to rare and competition-level micro-lots from some of the world's most sought-after producers. To help coffee lovers navigate their range, they have developed a clear category system spanning Specialty, Rare, Exceptional, Competition, and World Class. It is a thoughtful approach that makes high-level coffee more accessible without dumbing it down.
Every two weeks, new coffees are introduced. The team cups extensively, cutting through a large volume of samples to ensure only the right ones make it through. Washed Geishas from Tanzania, experimental lots from Ecuador, rare Bourbons from Rwanda. Coffees that most people only encounter at competitions, now available in your monthly box.
At Cafeato, we set the bar high when it comes to choosing our roasters. Manhattan is exactly the kind of name we have been looking forward to bringing to you.
